Rectifier circuit

Rectifier circuitBond Graphs are well suited to electrical and electromechanical problems.  A simple diode rectifier circuit is shown here.

The scheme uses the BondSim component models of the electrical components. These are similar to the common electrical symbols, but have the terminals in the form of power (half-arrow) ports. The voltage source generates a sine voltage of amplitude 50 V and 50 Hz frequency. The details of the model can be found elsewhere. The sheme above on the left represents the complete model of the rectifier problem in BondSim environment. After building the simulation model the simulation was run for 10 ms (a half of the period of the input voltage) to generate the diode forward voltage characteristics. The diagram bellow shows the diode current (Amps) vs  voltage (Volts) drop characteristics.
